Have you ever wondered, what is the perfect morning skincare routine?
Wouldn’t be amazing to start a day with a therapeutic regimen that brightens and freshens your skin and makes you look great. Isn’t that a perfect way to start your day? Here is the holy grail for the most useful and amazing skincare routine to follow.
Step 1 – Use water-based Cleanser
First thing first, wipe off the debris and dirt or God forbid last nights make-up from your face.
The key to remember is do not to use bar soap, it’s very drying and mostly leave a film on your skin. For oily skin use a foamy cleanser to control oil, for dry to combination skin use a hydrating gentler cleanser, consider green tea cleanser.
Step 2 – Use a Toner
Next up is Toner.
This is an important step so don’t skip it. So how would you choose the right toner Quite opposite to the popular belief that toner shrinks the pores, it rather re-established the ph of your skin?
Alcohol-based toner is a strict no-no. It strips off the natural oils, healthy bacteria, the very much of your skins microbiome that helps in creating healthy skin. Know your skin type and choose products accordingly.
Step 3 – A must-have antioxidant
Super important product one must incorporate in the skincare regimen.
Antioxidant serums contain mainly vitamin C or E. Study shows the combination of vitamins E and C create a synergistic antioxidant that is great for your skin. Antioxidants fight the free radicals which are basically damaging molecules.
Tip- make sure you buy antioxidants that come in amber bottles or bottle that does not allow light in, because if not so it tends to get oxidized (brown in colour) which is probably of no use.
Step 4 – Apply an eye cream
Eye cream is often missed product. Under-eye skin is delicate and the fine lines around the eyes need to be taken care of. So you better not skip on an eye cream. Ideally, an eye cream with retinol is well recommended which help in tightening and moisturizing the skin.
Step 5 – Apply sunscreen SPF >30
In the final step apply sunscreen, ideally, you want to apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or more. According to studies broad spectrum of sunscreen with SPF 30 or more will block 97% of suns ray. If you wish to have youthful skin this step is just non-negotiable. Look for sunscreen which doubles up as a moisturizer that can be easily absorbed into your skin.
